A “Berry Good” Smoothie

Smoothies are one of my favorite ways to pack a lot of nutrition into one delicious cup. 🍓 They’re also a great way to add lots of plant diversity (feed those good gut bugs) and boost your fiber intake!⁣

My current go-to is this delicious berry combo, and the colors are perfect for the 4th of July! Berries are awesome for your gut, because they add a vitamin/mineral and polyphenol punch to reduce inflammation⁣. The true gut goodness in this smoothie, though, is the kefir – and I think it’s a seriously underrated ingredient. It’s packed full of probiotics that your gut bacteria loves! Then, these awesome bacteria work to relieve your bloat and constipation, and create a more balanced gut environment in the future.

Berry Good Kefir Smoothie

  • 1/2 medium banana
  • 1 1/2 cups berries any kind you like – I used blueberries and strawberries!
  • 1 tbsp sunflower seed butter
  • 1 cup plain kefir


  • Blend!
